Since a young age Ashley has shown a great interest in animals.  Even before she could talk and daycare was a daily necessity, you could bet that there was a stuffed animal cradled in her arms at every waking moment.  When she became a little older her parents encouraged her to join 4-H.  Through 4-H Ashley became further interested in animals. This is where she met her first australian shepherd and her introduction to showing dogs began. Since that time Ashley has been competitively aussies in conformation, agility, obedience, and rally.  Because of showing, showing Ashley has met many wonderful people that have helped further her in the world of dogs.  It was with their guidance and support that Cattail Ridge Australian Shepherds is able to be what it is today; a small kennel that prides itself in wanting to produce a sound dog in both body and mind.
